2.2.0

  • New Feature: Update to this version and CloseUp® firmware version 20 (available after updating your software) to allow the profiling of any instrument on any CloseUp® System! We’ve been able to unify the algorithms for all instruments compatible with the CloseUp® System into one firmware edition and make them available on every CloseUp® System. Simply purchase an additional affordable CloseUp® Mic from Your Heaven® Audio to use your CloseUp® System processor with any instrument we support. We can’t offer support for using a CloseUp® microphone on an instrument type it was not designed for, but now there’s nothing stopping you from experimenting.
  • New Feature: Load a profile from your CloseUp® System’s memory. Lost the .ezq file for your profile? Working on a different computer? Now you can extract profiles from a CloseUp’s memory and edit, save, or transfer them to another CloseUp, just like having the original .ezq file! (Note that in profiles transferred before version 2.2.0, Custom EQ must be reset to be modified.)
  • New instrument choice interface ready for our soon-to-expand product line!
  • Added Banjo and Ukulele (to be released soon) as official CloseUp® instrument types, as well as additional experimental instruments.
  • The Enter or Return key is now another convenient way to click the blue buttons that advance through profiling.
  • When you load a profile (.ezq file) from your computer that has a saved inside recording alongside it in the same folder, that recording is now automatically reloaded for auditioning when you edit the Custom EQ.
  • App now defaults to saving profiles in a “Profile Library” folder that can be accessed from the File menu to help centralize and organize profile storage. This folder will be created for you and we recommend you use it.
  • Updated instructions for new guitar CloseUp® Mics.
  • Basic Custom EQ: Display a graph of how knobs affect frequency response.
  • You can now record up to 5 minutes of playing at once in the Custom EQ Alternate Loop.
  • You can now save the Custom EQ Alternate Loop to audition more Custom EQ changes later, or to send to Your Heaven® if you want help getting the best sound from your instrument.
  • If changes to a profile will be lost when clicking “Back”, you will now be notified and asked to confirm.
  • Easier firmware updates: it is no longer necessary to restart the CloseUp into Firmware Update Mode manually when applying a firmware update.
  • Fix: Red highlights on Advanced Custom EQ filters indicating Gain & Q combinations that exceed Your Heaven’s recommendations for making reliably good sounding modifications to a profile now appear as expected when changes are made from the frequency response graph.
  • Fix for audio glitches that could occur at the beginning of the Custom EQ Alternate Loop recording if recording was triggered soon after the record button was clicked.
  • Fix for the Custom EQ Live Audio Input remaining silent when editing the Custom EQ of a saved profile loaded from the computer.
  • Fix for inconsistencies in reading/writing Device Settings in some circumstances.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Released 2023-01-26

2.1.2

  • Important Fix: In the previous release, Advanced Custom EQ was not stored in the profile, so never was transferred to the CloseUp System hardware. We fixed that in this release, but please re-open any profiles you made in version 2.0.2 in which you wanted to use the Advanced Custom EQ and re-create that Custom EQ. It will now actually affect your profile!
  • Fix: when editing the Custom EQ, switching to Live Audio mode no longer causes your Custom EQ to be reset.
  • Audio Settings window added – allows you to adjust the buffer size for lower latency or more reliable audio on the computer (does not affect the CloseUp hardware). Find it in the Options menu.
  • Audio latency is greatly improved on Windows when using the Live Audio mode to review your profile or edit the Custom EQ. There is also a button to open the new Audio Settings window.
  • You can now resize the main window to whatever size you prefer, and the interface will scale accordingly. Find presets and shortcuts in the Options menu.
  • The CloseUp System Software will now remember the size and location of the main window between launches.
  • The CloseUp System Software will now remember your preferred playback volumes, instrument, mic generation, and a number of other settings between launches, making less work for you.
  • Fix: “Do It” button in instructions for profiling Snare Drum or Kick Drum now auto-sets the High Gain control as expected.
  • Improved Basic Custom EQ UI.
  • Added the ability Ignore a specific software or firmware update. You will only be notified when a version newer than the one you ignored is released.
  • New items in the Options menu allow you to manually check for firmware and software updates.
  • CloseUp hardware should now automatically reconnect as expected after a firmware update on Mac.
  • Fixed some minor issues with firmware update.
  • Additional minor bug fixes.
  • Mac version is tested and working properly on Apple Silicon (using Rosetta for now).

Released 2022-06-09

2.0.2

Fully functional release (all features now work in macOS 11 Big Sur)

  • New Feature: Improvements to profiling for Classical/Nylon Guitar. We recommend that Classical/Nylon Guitar players update and re-create their profiles for improved sound.
  • Windows users no longer need to need to have the CloseUp System connected via USB before starting the software. It will recognize the CloseUp at any time.
  • Software launches faster, especially on Windows.
  • Updated instructions.

Important: This release requires macOS 10.11.6 or later or Windows 8 or later 64-bit. Users of older operating systems should use version 2.0.0. Contact Your Heaven Support with any questions.

Also Important: This version of the software is only compatible with CloseUp® firmware rev 16 or later. When you install and run the new version of the CloseUp® Software, it will prompt you to upgrade the firmware on your CloseUp® System. The process is quick and easy, and requires only a USB cable and an internet connection.

  • New Feature: Improved gain control. The Input Gain knob now controls Output Level instead. Input gain is stored in profiles. This means you can now set the analog output to the best level for the gear you are connecting to, without changing the optimal the gain setting of the CloseUp®’s Mic.
