The CloseUp® Drum Kit System is the product of over a decade of acoustic research. Custom microphones and a powerful audio processor designed specifically for drums give you need the tools to get the sound you want without the headache, allwhile keeping full control over the sound of each instrument in the drum kit. This system is simple enough to be used by those with no audio engineering experience, quick enough to be used on stage, and good enough to be used in the studio.
With an individual mic and separate EzQ® profiling for every instrument in the kit, as well as optional overheads for ambience allows incredibly detailed and flexible multichannel recording or live amplification of a drum kit.
A compact form-factor with no mic stands allows easy transportation and ultra-quick setup. Clip the mics on the kit, pull up your preset, and you’re good to go! Because the room (or other aspects of hte environment, such as wind) are almost totally removed from the audio picked up by the CloseUp® Drum System, it can be used with the same settings in pretty much any venue, or even on a rooftop in high winds!

Using traditional miking techniques, it takes hours of studio work by a trained engineer to get a great sound from a drum kit, even in the best of studios. And on stage it’s often just not possible. Our system cuts that time down to 10-20 minutes and even removes the need for the drummer to sit and tap drums constantly during setup. That means you don’t have to sacrifice sound quality when playing live, and your live performances can sound as good as your best recordings.

Our simple, step-by-step process allows you to tailor your CloseUp® System to your instrument so it sounds real, natural, and acoustic every time. And for additional customization, you can use the EQ module and tone controls to tweak your sound for artistic effect.
Flexibility
The CloseUp® System is designed to work in any situation. The analog audio output is a balanced line out that will connect to almost anything. Power can be supplied from the included USB power supply, a 9V battery, a phone charger, a computer’s USB port, or a standard 9V guitar pedal power supply. Store ‘profiles’ for up to 4 instruments on the device and switch between them, and store many more on your computer.
